NORMAN ELLIS JONES ANSWERS SUMMONS
Norman Ellis Jones, 77, a resident of Yamhill county for 35 years, died Friday at the home of his son, Glen, at Lafayette where he had made his home in recent months.
In 1900 Mr. Jones moved to Carlton and five years later he moved to Dayton where he operated a farm until the last few months. He was born Dec. 19, 1858, near Madison, Wis. In 1889, Mr. Jones and Rowena Price were married near Madison, and four years ago they observed their golden wedding anniversary.
Besides the widow, he is survived by four sons, Roy of Dayton, Glen and Hobert of Lafayette and Clarence of Newberg; two daughters, Mrs. Vanna Bryan and Frances Jones of Lafayette; three brothers, William S. of Linnton and Wallace J. and Wesley J. of Wisconsin, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Macy & Son chapel Monday afternoon with interment in Evergreen Memorial park
