Excerpt from obituary in the St. Joseph [Mich.] Herald-Palladium of Thursday, 5 July 1979:

"A Galien man died Tuesday night [3 July 1979] of injuries received four hours earlier when his car collided with a grain truck on US-12 near Niles, according to state police.

Chester J. Cylke, 39, Route 1, Pardee Road [Galien Township] was fatally injured when his car crossed over the centerline of US-12 near Portage Road in Bertrand Township and collided with a grain truck. Cylke was taken to Pawating Hospital in Niles following the crash and was pronounced dead at 8 p.m.

Mr. Cylke was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include two daughters, Donna and Diane Cylke, both of Dowagiac; his mother, Mrs. Edward (Sophie) Weber Cylke, Galien; two brothers, Edward, Ellijay, Ga., and Robert, Galien; and two sisters, Mrs. Janice Adams, Buchanan, and Mrs. Kathleen Noren, Knox, Ind."
