Estherville – Services for John I. Higgins, 92, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. He died Monday, May 8, 1995 at Holy Family Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born Feb. 4, 1903 at Schaller, the son of Charles and Ella (Gulliford) Higgins. He attended school in Schaller and graduated from high school in Estherville. He was united in marriage with Neva Yates on Oct. 6, 1922 in Fairmont, Minn. He farmed many years in Dickinson and Emmet Counties. He and his wife moved into Estherville 11 years ago. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. John (Glenna) Rugtiv of Estherville and Mrs. Cato (Elva Jane) Cimarusti of Encino, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva, Nov. 26, 1991; his parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 10, 1995)
