OBITUARY---HESSER
Louisa Fisher was born in Chautauqua county, New York, March 18, 1837, and departed this life October 10, 1923, at the home of her son, S. M. Hesser, Alta Vista, being 86 years, 6 months and 22 days old.
She lived in New York until she was 13 years old, when, with her parents, she moved to Valpariso, Ind. August 16, 1857, she was united in marriage with Benjamin Hesser, to which union were born ten children, six daughters and four sons, all of whom survive her. They are: S. M. Hesser, Mrs. Maggie Gipple and Mrs. Fanny Wakefield, of Alta Vista; Mrs. Eva Perkins, of Elbert, Colo.; Pete Hesser, of Copeland, Kansas; Lem Hesser, of Garden City, Kansas; Mrs. Bertha Buchholtz, of Olathe, Kansas; Mrs. Dora German, of Ft. Scott, Kansas; Mrs. Ella Brewer, of Topeka, Kansas; and Ben Hesser, of Fostoria, Kansas. In these homes are forty grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hesser united with the Methodist church when she was 13 years old, and was a very conscientious and faithful Christian all her life. Her motto in life as, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." For the past few years Mrs. Hesser had been a helpless invalid. Yet through all her suffering she was patient and cheerful, always thinking of others instead of herself.
Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. W. C. Green.
