Richard Oran "Dick" Stewart of St. James, Missouri passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center on March 1, 2011. Richard O. Stewart was 70 years, 4 months and 16 days of age.

Richard Oran Stewart or "Dick" Stewart as he was known by his family and friends, was born on October 13, 1940 at Rolla, Missouri to his parents: Oran Adrain and Eva Mae (Breuer) Stewart. Richard was united in marriage to Judith Irene Stout on March 10, 1962 in St. James, Missouri.

"Dick" Stewart grew up and attended school in Cuba, Missouri. He worked in St. Louis, Missouri for the Local 513 Operators Union working with many construction companies. Dick worked weekends at Spurgeons 66 for 30 years. Dick dearly loved the outdoors, deer hunting, and working on his food plots. Dick loved gardening and always had a very big garden for his family and neighbors.

"Dick" Stewart is survived by his loving wife of the home: Judith Stewart of St. James, Missouri; two sons: Daniel Richard Stewart and wife Patricia of Belleville, Illinois; Darren Douglas Stewart of St. James, Missouri; one brother: Don Stewart of Cuba, Missouri; and two sisters: Sue Brown and Sandra Stewart both of Cuba, Missouri; along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends. "Dick" Stewart will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Preceding "Dick" Stewart in death are his parents: Oran Adrian and Eva Mae (Breuer) Stewart.

Services
Visitation for "Dick" Stewart will be from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Gary Mace officiating. Pallbearers will be Chuck Meadows; John Spurgeon; Harding Meadows; Jason Brown; Joshua Brown; and Doug Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Williams and Travis Hall. Burial will be in the family plot in the Bowen Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
