HAZOURI LaVerne Strickland Hazouri passed away on June 26, 2007 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Pierce County, Georgia. She moved to Jacksonville after graduating from high school where she met and married Mike Hazouri. Together they owned The Jacksonville Electric Motor Exchange. She is survived by her son, Richard Hazouri, of Jacksonville, daughter, Joy Blume, granddaughter Cynthia Blume, great-grandson, Mitchell Blume, all of North Carolina, and nephew, Greg Strickland, of Jacksonville, who she raised. LaVerne's home was always filled with family and friends and the wonderful aroma of the delicious meals she prepared. She was a member of the Jacksonville Garden Club, a Master Bridge Player, and for many years a member of The Lake Shore Woman's Club. She was a long time member of Lakeshore Presbyterian Church and dedicated much of her time to the up-keep of the church grounds. LaVerne was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 10:30am, on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church with Reverend Gwinn Pratt officiating. The interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Haven Hospice, 8301 Cypress Plaza Drive. Ste. 119, Jax, Fl. 32256.
