Sammy Daniel Whiteside passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2009 at his home in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was born on March 21, 1945 in Gillett, Arkansas to the late Harold & Mae Norman Whiteside. Until he became disabled Sammy worked for the Black Mountain Plant, which specialized in harvesting rice hulls and manufacturing into insulation. He is of the Baptist Faith and moved to Ft. Smith in 2002 to make his home with his daughter. He is survived by two sons, Loyd of Louisiana, Daniel of Ft. Smith, two daughters, Samantha Tumey & Katrina Crumb both of Ft. Smith, two sisters, Allene Cochrane & Shirley Morgan both of Clarendon. Eight grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and many extended family members also survive. May the love and prayers of dear friends comfort the family at this time.
