Franklin Frederick Bulin was born to John Bulin, Sr., and Anna Houser-Bulin on September 8, 1922, at Alexandria and passed away February 16, 2011, at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, at the age of 88 years, five months and eight days. He was one of five children in the family.

Frank was born and raised in Alexandria, on the family farm. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1940.

In 1944, he entered the Army and served in Germany until honorable discharged in 1946. He was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge.

He moved to Ohiowa in 1952 and remained there until March of 2009, when he became a resident of Fairview Manor in Fairmont.

Frank was a farmer until the early 1970's, then worked at Farmer's Co-op in Ohiowa. Frank and Bonnie moved to town in 1984 and Frank retired in 1985.

Frank was married to Marcella Doris Weber of Geneva, on March 21, 1948, and to them five children were born. Frank was baptized and became a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ohiowa before they were married. To this marriage two boys and three girls were born, Janet, Gary, Sharon, Linda and Alan.

On March 31, 1972, Marcella was killed in a pickup-train accident west of Alexandria.

Frank married Anita LaVonne Schneider of Lincoln on August 10, 1974, and seven daughters were added to the family, Joyce, Deb., Anita, Charlotte, Jackie, Nan and Patty.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, John Sr., and Anna Bulin; first wife, Marcella; brothers, Howard and John Jr.; infant sister, Peggy; granddaughter, Kiley Bulin; daughter-in-law, Sandy Bulin; and son-in-law, Don Jacque.

He is survived by wife, Anita (Bonnie) Bulin; sons, Gary Bulin, Alan and Deb Bulin; daughters, Janet Porter, Sharon and John Rotert, Nan Uldrich, Joyce and Glen Plock; Deb Sieber and Lonnie Crays; Charlotte Hart, Anita and Roy Beckmann, Jackie and Brud Coy, Linda and Dennis Johnson, and Patty and Shawn Elliott; sister, Blanche Bandemer; sisters-in-law, Betty Bulin and Loreen Haupt and husband Jack; 34 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohiowa, on February 21, with Pastor Campbell and Pastor Sell officiating. Nancy Cradduck accompanied Gaylord Cradduck who sang "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden," with the congregation singing the hymn "How Great Thou Art."

Pallbearers were Don Filipi, John Jensen, Tyson Johnson, Ryan Bulin, Dylan Rotert, Albert Haupt, Carl Haupt and John Haupt.

Honorary pallbearers were Alan Krupicka, Glenn Kronhofman and grandchildren.

Interment was in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
