OGDEN- Robert Louis Deru, loving husband, father and grandfather, departed this mortal existence on March 19, 2011 after a valiant battle with leukemia.

He was born on July 15, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to Albert Joseph Deru and Veda Schumers. He attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1959 and Weber State University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

On August 28, 1967, he married the love of his life, Lois Cecelia Peterson, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The greatest blessing that came into their lives were their two children Douglas and Nancy.

In 2003 he retired from Hill Air Force Base as a Branch Chief in the Software Engineering Division with 41 years of service.

As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Elders Presidency, Seventy, Ward Mission Leader, Young Mens President, Bishop, Stake Missionary, Pastoral care at Mckay-Dee Hospital, and Ogden Temple Ordinance Worker.

His life was only in the service of his Heavenly Father and his beloved Family.
