Marzook was the son of James (Sr.) and Elizabeth Mouser Galloway and the husband of Jennie Cameron. Marzook was known to friends and family as "Big Zook" (a name that differentiated him from his nephew (his brother Martin's son, Zook). Marzook and Jennie had three sons, Jesse, Norris and Paul and a daughter, Lounette (married E.L. Goodman).
Marzook worked in the sawmilling and lumber business.
Marzook and his brothers Martin and James and Martin's oldest son, Zook, were principal stockholders in the Galloway Lumber Company, a family owned sawmill operated at Grabow near Deridder, Louisiana, in the early 20th century.
