William and Hallie Vey were the parents of 18 children. All of them are now linked to their memorials with the exception of one: Their son Robert had a twin, but it is unknown where that baby is buried.

Obituary From Ottumwa Courier, Monday, July 16, 1962, Page 11:

William B. Pettit, 80, died Saturday morning at 11:45 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Blucher, 316 N. Jefferson, after a long illness.

He was born in Grinnell, Sept. 12, 1881, the son of William B. and Sarah Davis Pettit.

His marriage to Hallie Vey Downing took place March 30, 1904, in Bloomfield. She died in 1957.

A 34-year Ottumwa resident, Mr. Pettit retired from John Morrell & Co. in 1946 after 17 years of service.

Survivors include ten sons, Leland of Unionville, Mo., Richard of Exline, Gerald of Santa Clara, Calif., Audrel of Wilmington, Calif., Oramel of Des Moines, Lowell of Mitchellville, Melbourne of Agency, Royce of Eldon, Clare of Ottumwa and Robert of Centerville; two daughters, Mrs. J.E. Blucher of Ottumwa and Mrs. Twila Rupe of Albia; 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pettit was preceded in death by his wife, six children, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church where he was a member, with Rev. Stanton Johnson in charge. Sons will serve as pallbearers.

The casket will be at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when it will take to the church.
