HILL, MARGUERITE C. - died June 30, 1999, at Shannondale Health Care Center. She was the widow of W.W. Hill, Jr., owner and publisher of the Harriman Record, weekly newspaper in Harriman, Tenn. from 1929-1949. She wrote the society column, a position she continued until she retired in 1978, and was a member of the Harriman Business and Professional Women's Club and the Harriman Music Club. She was a lifetime member of the Christian Church and teacher of the Ladies Fellowship class at First Christian Church in Harriman for many years. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Betsy H. Wheeler of Knoxville; nieces, Margaret Windley and Mildred Estill; three grandchildren, Edwin Wheeler of Palo Alto, Calif., Ann Wheeler of Knoxville and William Wheeler of Alexandria, Va.; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral 3 p.m. Saturday at Kyker Funeral Home Chapel in Harriman with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Christian Church in Harriman or Shannondale Health Care Center.
