Services will be at 10 a.m Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Todd K. Philipsen and the Rev. Mark A. Maresh officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
Frances was born Aug. 27, 1921, at Ashton to Stanley & Mary (Smedra) Smolla.
On Dec. 29, 1942, she married Ray Koehler in Abilene, Texas. He died Dec. 5, 1989.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter, Pat Foster of Grand Island; sisters and brothers-in-law Marge and Dick McLain of O'Neill and Ernestine and Steve Eurek of Loup City.
Additional survivors include grandchildren Angela Rodriguez, Christopher Wisely and Jon Ensley; and great-grandchildren Jessica Wisely, Ashley Wisely, Alysia Strong, Emilio Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez and Katelyn Rodriguez.
Frances attended school in Rockville, graduating in 1939.
She worked at the Ordnance Plant in Grand Island and later worked in the shipping and receiving department at Skagway.
Frances then began her career in real estate and was employed with Home Real Estate, retiring as an associate broker in 1994.
She was a Brownie leader when her daughter was younger, and was an avid supporter of the Polish Heritage Center in Ashton.
She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several card clubs. She volunteered at the YWCA.
She was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Queen of Peace Court 2227; and was a member of the VFW Post 1347 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers Edwin, Alex, Joe, Richard, Edward; and sisters Agnes Treffer and Marie Kaslon.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
