James Huland Harrup, 81, of Charlottesville, passed away at Martha Jefferson Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2006. Jimmy was born June 12,1924 in Yale, to the late Emmett H. Harrup and Susie V. Harrup. Jimmy was a member of the Widow's
Sons Masonic Lodge #60 of Charlottesville, and retired from Blue Ridge Hospital after many years of devoted service.

Jimmy enjoyed a lifelong love of music and was an avid guitar player whose talents were enjoyed by his many friends and family who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. Harrup of Charlottesville and his sister, Jessie H. Johnson of Dendron.

He is survived by two sons, James A. Harrup and his wife, Paula of Culpeper County, John H. Harrup and his wife, Athlene of Charlottesville; three grandchildren, Jessica A. Harrup, Glen J. Harrup and Hannah E. Harrup.

The family will receive friends at Hill & Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville on Tuesday, January 10, from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday January 11, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Sidney Carig officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hill & Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville.
