She died Saturday March 19, 2011 at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, NE.
LaVone (Holton) Cleveland was born June 17, 1922, to Martin and Martha (Oakes) Holton, on a farm southwest of Tilden. She attended Bunker Hill Grade School, and continued her education at Battle Creek High School. On September 28, 1940 she was married to Gerald Cleveland in Pierce, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union, Bonnie Rae and Glen Loy. They moved to Meadow Grove in 1949, were she lived until 2003 when she moved to Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek.
She worked at Al's Café and Henningson Foods in Norfolk for many years. LaVone enjoyed bowling, flowers, crocheting, and traveling. Many people have doilies and wall hangings that LaVone crocheted, and she even crocheted a bedspread for a lady in California.
LaVone is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Seboe of Meadow Grove; son, Glen and wife Judy Cleveland of Meadow Grove; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1982; her parents; and five brothers.
