CORINNA, Nov 13, J. Clifford Smith, 81 of Corinna, died early Sunday morning following an illness of a year. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Pleasant Street Christian Church, with burial in the village cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Corinna and made the town his home all his life. He took up the painting trade when 16 years of age and followed that occupation for 65 years. His first wife was Miss Emmie Moore, whod died 44 years. His widow, Alice Macomber Smith survives him as do two daughters, Mrs. Leona Judkins of Corinna, and Mrs. Alta Hayden of Calais; a son, Donald Smith of Corinna; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a former trustee of Corinna Union Acadmey and at one time was president of the board. He was a former member of the Stone Ezel Lodge of Odd Fellows.
