Emmanuel "Lou" Griesinger, 96, of Oak Harbor, entered his heavenly home on March 7, 2011.

Lou was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Pasadena, Calif., to John and Emilie (Breunle) Griesinger, the ninth of 10 children. He attended schools in Pasadena, graduating from Franklin High School. Lou served his country in the U.S. Army for several years. On April 4, 1946, he married Daryl Jacqueline Sargent in the Wee Kirk O' the Heather Chapel in Glendale, Calif.
Lou was employed for many years as an accountant and lived in the San Gabriel Valley and other parts of Southern California. In 1982 he retired with his wife to Oak Harbor, where he became active at New Covenant Fellowship. He loved to read his Bible, teach scripture and walk.
Lou is survived by his daughter Lauren Becker of Oak Harbor; also, by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded by his wife Jackie on Feb. 22, 2010, as well as by nine siblings.
A memorial graveside service will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tony Alward officiating. Arrangements are with the assistance of Whidbey Memorial.
