Mrs. John William Keiler, long active in Paducah civic and charitable activities, died Tuesday morning at 4 a.m.
Death came at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom May, in Beverly Hills. She had become ill only recently.
At her bedside, besides her daughter, were her son, Leo F. Keiler, and other members of the immediate family.
Mrs. Keiler was the widow of the late John W. Keiler, for whom Keiler Field and Keiler Park were named. She was born and grew up in Paducah.
She was a member of the board of the Friendly Home, and of the Community Center, formerly known as the Joseph L. Friedman Settlement House. She helped organize the Paducah Woman's Club and was a charter member of the Garden Club. Her brother was Joseph L. Friedman, in whose memory the community Center was given.
Surviving besides Mrs. May and Mr. Keiler, are three grandchildren, John W. Keiler II, Blanche Keiler Prinzmetal and David May; and five great-grandchildren, Byron Prinzmetal, Anita Prinzmetal, William Prinzmetal and Cynthia Prinzmetal and Gloria May.

Rites Set
For Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. John W. Keller, member of one of Paducah'a pioneer families, who died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom May, in Beverly Hills, Calif., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Roth's Funeral ChapeL
The Kellers have been residents of Paducah for more than 100 years. Keiler Park, Keiler Field and Keiler Street were named in honor of Mrs. Keller's husband, John W. Keiler. The Joseph L. Friedman Community Center was given in honor of Mrs. Keller's brother, Joseph L. Friedman.
Burial win be in the Keller mausoleum at Temple Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Max Kaufman officiating. Active pallbearers will be James Wheeler, Hermon Roof, Ramsey Martin, Dewey Payne, H. R. Dallam and William Carson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Warren Sights, Ed Hawkins, Stanley Petter, Dr. Frank Boyd, Alben W. Barkley. Edwin J. Paxton Jr., Irving Bright, Fred Lack. James R. Smith, Harry Livingston and Melvin Conullaud.
The body will arrive in Paducah early Friday morning. The remains are being accompanied to Paducah by Mrs. Keller's children, Anita Keiler May and Leo F. Keller, and her granddaughter, Blanche Keller Prinzmetal. Friends may call at the Roth Funeral Chapel Friday morning.
