Viola Rhodes, 92, Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Spencer died Thursday, March 13, 1997 at her home in Sun City
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 18
Visitation will begin Monday at 3 p.m. with the family present at Warner Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements
Viola Jeanette Rhodes, the daughter of Jerry and Effie (Cutshall) Davidson, was born June 15, 1904 on a farm near Dickens. Her childhood years were spent in that community where she received her early education. She graduated from Spencer High School. Following her graduation, she taught in a country school for five years
She married J. Harold Rhodes on June 6, 1929 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. following their marriage, they moved to a farm south of Spencer where they resided until 1989, when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Spencer and very active in the Sioux Township Victory Club. She worked for a number of years at the Delaney Nursing Home
Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, four sisters and two brothers
She is survived by one son, Jerry Rhodes and his wife, Pamela of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren
