On the 18th day of November 1912, the death angel visited the home of our friend and brother, Thomas Smith, and claimed as its victim, the father and husband of the household.

He had been in feeble health for some time with that dreaded disease, Consumption. His death was not unexpected, although it was a sad hour for the dear mother and children, when they realized that they must part with him.

His remains were laid to rest in Pleasant Ridge churchyard, and awaits the resurrection morning when we will all come forth to face the King of Heaven, where we hope and trust he will meet his beloved wife and children.

The bereaved family have our heartfelt sympathies. May the blessed Savior supply them all with the needed grace to prepare them for death; watch over them in the troubles and trials of this life, and carry them safely over the river of death, where they may dwell in peace forever.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Crider.

This was read and adopted in conference, at Pleasant Ridge Church, Jan. 10, 1914, and spread on the church book.
