Evelyn worked at the Windsor House in Columbus, KS, providing care for the residents. She was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Treece, KS. Evelyn was married to Roy F. Prewitt on February 14, 1999 at Treece, KS.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John Gilmore and Robin Gilmore; two daughters, Wendy Gilmore and Cassy Gilmore; one brother, Eddie Spoon; and two sisters, Margie Spoon and Rosy Shrum.
Survivors include her husband, Roy F. Prewitt, Galena, KS; one son, Steve Gilmore and wife JoAn, Chetopa, KS; one daughter, Pamela Bird and husband Virgil, Crestline, KS; one sister, Peggy Loyd, Cleveland, TN; four step-sons, Ronald Prewitt, Galena, KS, Randy Prewitt, Chelsea, OK, Roy Prewitt, Moberly, MO, Troy Prewitt, Welch, OK; one step-daughter, Claudia Peters, Claremore, OK; 20 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren and step grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Carterville Cemetery with Pastors Wes Woodcock and James Wethey officiating. The family will receive friends at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home and Crematory, Webb City, MO.
