Cloyce Barr
Cloyce Wayne Barr, 63, New London, died at 9:29 p.m. Friday, July 24, 1987, at the Henry County Health Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Fairfield, he was the son of Gilbert and Carrie Alter Barr. He married Betty Jane Ericson July 2, 1946, in Casper, Wyo.
He was a retired truck driver for the Hazen Supply Company. A Navy veteran of World War II, he had received a purple heart. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, West Burlington, president of the New London Lions Club and the Daisy Chain Square Dance Club, Burlington.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Terry, Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Carrie Barr, Long Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Wilbert Barr and Donald Barr, both of Long Beach, Calif., and Lester Barr, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, New London. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel with the Rev. James Zuehles officiating. Interment will be in White Oak Cemetery, Rome.
Memorials have been established to Peace Lutheran Church or New London Lions Club.
