She was the daughter of Timothy Searfoss and his wife Christianna (nee George) and was one of 10 children. There are several different families from her area which spelled their last names differently. However, her daughter Esther's obituary spells her last name SEARFOSS. She met and married Allen Clayton Deppe in Carbon Co and married Oct 4, 1884 by the Rev. Abraham Bartholomew. They were the parents of 23, yes 23, children. Many were twins and sadly, many did not live long.

She is buried near the flagpole.
