Catherine was the 9th of 10 children of Michael Keppel and Dorothea Yerian of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. She was baptized Catharina on August 30, 1807 at the Greensburg Lutheran Church, sponsors Christian and Catharina Stump.
She married about 1825 to Michael Isaman. He was born about 1796 in Pennsylvania.
They are listed in the 1850 census of Salem, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, with 6 children at home.
She is listed as Catherine Eisaman in the 1880 census of Salem as a boarder in the home of Sarah Kunkle, prsumably her daughter.
