W.R. Worthington 84, of 10255 Kentucky 815; Utica, Kentucky died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro. William Ranson Worthington was born December 31, 1926 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Wallace and Mable Pinkston Worthington, was married to the former Barbara Carolyn Boling on February 28, 1975, and was better known as "W.R." by both his family and friends. W.R. was a farmer, retired from the Green Coal Company, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his dogs, raising chickens, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Barbara Worthington; two sons, William R. Worthington, Jr. and W.G. Worthington and his wife, Brenda both of Owensboro; a daughter, Gayle Vanover and her husband, Denny of Utica; a step son, Steve Ford and his wife, Angie of Philpot; two step daughters, Shelly Richeson and her husband, Danny of Utica and Stacy Dunn and her husband, Larry of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Worthington of Owensboro and Mike Worthington; and three sisters, Brenda Sands and her husband, Sonny of Utica, Carrie Laughlin and her husband, Mike, and Beck Booker and her husband, Allen both of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Jason Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in the Brushy Fork Cemetery in Daviess County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post # 5415. Friends may visit with the Worthington Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

The W.R. Worthington Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the W.R. Worthington, Memorial Fund; C/O Muster Funeral Homes; P.O. Box 160; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
