Leroy M. "Booga" Johns Jr., 47, of Shiprock, returned to our Creator on Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Farmington. Leroy was born Sept. 25, 1963, in Shiprock, to Leroy and Helena Johns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Glorene Benally and Gloria Bidtah; and nephew, Deion Bidtah.
Survivors include brothers, Hoskie Benally Jr., Jimmy N. Benally, Norman D. Benally and Delbert Johns; sisters, Janice M. Johns and Zelda T. Johns-Curley; aunts, Elsie K. Chee, Klara M. Smith, Berneice A. Blackhorse; uncles, Harold A. Kelewood, Frank John Sr.; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shiprock, followed at 11 a.m. by funeral services at the same location.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the LDS Church in Shiprock following the services.
Burial will be at the Shiprock Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Derek Benally, Roynell Benally, Gordon Joe, Delbert Johns, Dustin Johns, Deaton Smith, Harry Smith and Dakota Smith, assisted by the lifelong friends of "Booga."
