Eileen R. Haugen, 78, of Washburn, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Northern Lights Health Care Center in Washburn. She was born Feb. 11, 1938, in Ashland, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Rasmussen) Gaudreau.
She graduated from Ashland High School in 1956. Eileen married Raymond Anderson and to this union three children were born: Daniel, Deb and Diane. Raymond passed away in 1973, and three years later Eileen married Jerry Haugen in 1977. Jerry and Eileen were blessed with 38 years of marriage, and to this union a son Jamie was born. She loved to knit, garden and was an excellent baker. Eileen will be remembered fondly as having a wonderful good-natured personality and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Washburn. She also had a beloved cat named Samuel that held a very special spot in her heart.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband Jerry; four children, Daniel (Mary Ann) Anderson, Deb (Bob Schwiesow Sr.) Sandor, Diane (Ed) Anderson-Sandor and Jamie (Bettina) Haugen; seven grandchildren, Scott, Charlie, Jena, Cody, Mariah, Baamlak and Davion; and two great-grandchildren, Piper and Jack Oliver.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Raymond; and brothers, Bob and Tom Gaudreau.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Washburn, with visitation beginning an hour prior at 10 -11 a.m. at the church. Pastor Nancy Hanson will officiate, and a private inurnment will be at a later date at Woodland Cemetery in Washburn.
