SERVICES TODAY FOR ALBERT MECUM LIFELONG RESIDENT
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Odd Fellows Cemetery for Albert Lloyd Mecum, 83, who died Monday in Bandon. The Rev. Emmett Hofer, pastor of the First Church of God, will officiate.
Born March 15, 1883, at Four Mile, Mr. Mecum had resided in this area his entire life. During his working years, he was a sawyer and his last employment was with Cape Arago Lumber Company.
He is survived by his widow, Abbie, Bandon; sisters, Mrs. Fanny Miller, Bandon, and Mrs. Ida Lawrence, North Bend; sons, N. L. Loftin, Coos Bay, and Kenneth Loftin, Springfield; daughter, Mrs. Juanita Congdon, Fairbanks, Alaska; five grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The Bandon Chapel of Schroeder Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
