Husband of Sarah Salome Hughes.
Son of Isham Clement and Sarah Catherine Rudd-Clement.
In December 1850, at this location on the Ohio River, John Rudd Clement submitted plans for a town to be called "Clementsburg." His dream of a town died with his injury and death.
John was injured in a sawmill accident so badly that both his legs had to be amputated and all they had for pain was whisky, it was given to him, in excess, and he died.
