Rev. Jacob Andrew was born in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster
Co., PA 26 April 1797. He was by trade a coverlet weaver, which he carried on in Manor Twp. and later bought a farm in Paradise Twp., which he farmed for a number of years. He was ordained Minister of the Gospel under the rule of the Old Mennonite persuasion on August 28, 1856.
On March 23, 1869, he moved with his son Henry I. Andrews, to the
Borough of Strasburg, where he lived a retired life from all
worldly pursuites and attended only to his ministerial duties.
He died in Strasburg on Dec 3, 1873.
