Minnie was the daughter of John Gottfried Loebel and Bertha Theresa Kantz. She married Everett Buddin on June 3, 1910 in Carroll, IA. They were the parents of 9 children: Orin, John, Leta, Loebel, James, Mildred, Virginia, Eugene, and Donna.

Dec 19, 1986 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. Minnie Katherine Barbara Buddin, 101, of Carroll, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at St. Anthony Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. The Rev. Raymond Meester, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be In the Carroll City Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be Louis Broich, Lou Voyles, John Irlbeck and Andy Fahen. Honorary casket bearers will be Dr. John Martin, Carl Kitchen, Don Schleisman and Kenneth Ferrell.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Leta and Leonard Hutchinson of Atlantic, Eugene and Louise Buddin of Rock Island, Illinois, James and Mildred Glouser of Cherokee, Robert and Virginia Wagner of Jefferson City, Mo., and Donna Welbourn of Carroll, with whom she made her home before going to the nursing home; 27 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1953; four sons, Orrin, John, Loebel, and James; two daughters-in-law, Melba Mae Buddin and Cecelia Buddin, and one grandson, James Glouser Jr.

Mrs. Buddin was born Oct. 28, 1885, at Carroll, the daughter of John and Bertha Kautz Loebel. As a young girl, she attended Lutheran school in Carroll through the eighth grade. On June 3, 1910, she was married to Everett Buddin by the Rev. Lewis at the Methodist parsonage in Carroll. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll.
