Nora Josephine Cashin, nee Cannon, 4 Nov. 1926 - 14 Feb. 2011. Dearest daughter of the late Mary, nee McGonigle and James Cannon; beloved wife of John; loving mother of Maurice (Ann), Maureen (Keith) Bolog, Brendan (Portia) and Sharon (Robert) Kegler; proud and cherished grandmother of Sabina, Sean, Brian and Fiona Cashin; Theresa, John "Jack" and Mary Bridget Bolog; Triffany (James) Metz, Justin Cashin and Emmett Kegler; great-grandmother of Lea Cashin and Sadie and Hunter Metz; fond sister of Mary (the late Conn) McBrearty, Bridget "Breige" (the late John) Byrne and the late Maurice (Rose) Cannon. Native of Roxborough, Kilcar, Co. Donegal, Ireland. Nora was a long-time member of Saint Edward's Church, Saint Anne's Sodality and a Founding Member of the Irish American Heritage Center where she was active with the Nimble Thimbles. Nora was known for her quilt making, Irish soda bread, hot cups of tea with a chat, and her grandchildren's favorite spaghetti. She loved her flowers and plants and gave clippings away for others to nurture. Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge. Visitation, Thursday 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday, 9 a.m., to St. Edward Church, 4350 W. Sunnyside, Chicago. Mass at 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
