GEORGETOWN -- Curtiss Barwick, 70, died Wednesday, June 19, 1996, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Alcolu, a son of the late William and Lida Lowder Barwick.

Mr. Barwick was a self-employed plumber and electrician. He was a former policeman in Kingstree and Winnsboro, and also had served as a game warden. He was a constable and was a member of The Sons of Confederacy Veterans. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a Presbyterian.

Survivors include his wife, Louise H. Barwick; a son, William F. Barwick II of Woodbury, Tenn.; two daughters, Sheila L. Barwick of Muskogee, Okla., and Alyce B. Mundy of Georgetown; a brother, E.N. Barwick of Kingstree; two sisters, Shirley B. Pierce of Los Angeles, and Frances Holloway of Newport News, Va.; seven granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Graham Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
