Zenas Beam, 94, of 504 N. 12th St., died June 16, 2004, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia.
He was born Dec. 13, 1909 in Gaston County, son of the late Elzie E. Beam and Julia Ann Beam.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Friday, United Methodist Church, Bessemer City
VISITATION: One hour before service and other times at the home of Bob Hovis, 1102 Crowders Mountain Road, Bessemer City
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was retired from Central Drug of Bessemer City after 67 years of service. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in Italy. Military rites by American Legion Post 243, Bessemer City
SURVIVORS: Wife of 58 years, Elva H. Beam; sister-in-law, Ruth Brown Beam, Charleston, S.C.; nephews and wives, Bob and Kim Hovis, Bessemer City, John and Pam Walker, Bessemer City, Wayne and Ruth Houser, Gastonia, Paul Beam, San Antonio, Texas; neices and husbands, Mary Ann Beam and Palmer Huffstettler, Cherryville; Dr. Margaret Walker Fletcher, Atlanta, Libby Houser Gross, Brenda Houser and Buddy Johnson, all of Gastonia, Dorothy Harrill, Dunedin, Fla.; many loving great-nieces and nephews.
