Died of pulmonary tuberculosis, 22, in a Chicago sanatorium in 1891. Left behind a husband, a five-year-old son to a previous relationship, & an infant daughter to spouse John D. Martin. Per the 1900 U.S. Federal Census, her children resided with her parents Nancy & Jacob Brand of Wakefield, Pike County, Ohio. Died April 30, 1891 per her Illinois Death Certificate versus March 30, 1891 per Record of Deaths, Probate Court, Scioto County, Ohio. Buried atop a hill in Scioto Cemetery beside two baby siblings. Undated gravestone displays maiden name, "Hannah Brand."
