Glen Lee Higley Sr., our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this life and was welcomed home on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the age of eighty.

Glen was born July 1, 1930 in Clear Creek, Utah to Clifford Lee and Clara Bell Mayne Higley. He grew up in Brigham City and Salt Lake. Glen married Carol Mae Shaw on April 19, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They have been married for sixty-three years in April.

Glen was a high priest in the L.D.S. Church and a member of the Country Pines Branch in Clinton. Glen worked at HAFB as an aircraft mechanic. Glen spent forty years as a business man in coins, tokens, antiques, cards, stamps, etc. If it was collectible, he had it. He collected old good for trade tokens which he enjoyed very much. He found some of the rarest and one of a kind tokens that made his collection one of the best in Utah.

When Glen closed his shop, he and Carol traveled to other states and sold at many coin shows. Glen and Carol traveled to many Countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and many of the Islands in the Caribbean, also visiting every U.S. state.

In his younger years, Glen loved to fish and hunt with his family. He was an avid golfer. While living on a golf course at Belmont Springs for twenty-six years, he won many trophies while enjoying the friendship of his fellow golfers. Glen and Carol enjoyed the time spent with friends and neighbors in LaVerkin, Utah, at their home away from home.

Glen is survived by his wife, Carol; six children Glen (Jill) of Clinton; Dennis (Vickie) of Syracuse; Kevin (Cherie) of West Point; Doug (Diana) of Preston, ID; Randy (Ramona) of Samaria, ID; and Leslie Higley of Malad, ID; twenty-eight grandchildren; and forty-five great-grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Allred, three grandchildren, his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Boulevard, Ogden, Utah.
