Anna "Annie" (a great-great aunt) was a daughter of Harmon Alcorn and Elvira Smith Alcorn and was first enumerated in the 1870 census in Ironton, Iron Co., MO.

She had 7 known siblings: Lafayette (my paternal great-grandfather), James N., Dr. Reilly J., Mary, Ettie, Lussie S., and Alice.

Annie married Charles Bryan on December 20, 1885 in Iron Co., MO and they made their way west, settling in Montana along with Annie's sister, Lussie S. Alcorn Hanson, and her family.

Annie and Charles had 7 known children: Grover C. (b. 9/1886 in MO), Lena( (daughter b. 7/1888 in MO), Jefferson Ray (b. 11/1889 in MO), Burkett (son b. 12/1891 in MO),
Lonnie H., Lussie Mae (daughter b. 5/1896 in MT), and Verbal (daughter b. 1902-03 in MT).

Mrs. Anna Bryan - Big Timber Pioneer - February 18, 1960

Funeral services for Anna Sophronia Bryan, 91, long time Sweet Grass County resident, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lowry Chapel. Mrs. Bryan passed away Friday, Feb. 12, at the Coeur d'Alene Homes, Coeur d'Alene, Ida., where she had made her home for over four years.

Rev. R.W.Ruddle of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bozeman, was in charge of the services, with music by Harvey Turner, of Bozeman, who sang "In the Garden" and "God's Tomorrow." Margaret Morrow of Bozeman was organist.

Pallbearers were Roy Moore, Roy Webber, C.V. O'Leary, Stuart Nicholson, Art Michels and A. Ronald McDonnell. Interment was in Mountain View.

Mrs. Bryan was born June 13, 1868, in Trenton, Mo. She was married there to Chas. Bryan, Dec. 25, 1885. They came to Montana in 1890, first settling on Big Elk. In 1909 they moved to the present Beer ranch above McLeod where they resided until about 1926 when they moved to Big Timber. Mr. Bryan passed away Nov. 24, 1947. Mrs. Bryan later moved to Spokane and resided there until going to Coeur d'Alene.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Lena) Bryan of Cheney, Wash., Mrs. Robert (Mae) Lyon, Gooding, Ida., and Mrs. Les (Verbal) Francis, Spokane, Wash; three sons, Ray Bryan, Spokane, Wash., Bert Bryan, Dishman, Wash., and Lonnie H. Bryan, Big Timber; a sister, Mrs. Lussie Hanson, Big Timber, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. One son, Grover C. Bryan, preceded her in death."
