OBITUARY
Sandra Kathleen Mullenger "Sandy" was born at Denison Iowa, on March 30, 1934, the daughter of Harold Henrichsen and Florence Maude rumble Jenkins.
She was raised in Denison where she received her education in the class of 1952.
On July 6, 1952, Sandy was united in marriage with William lee Mullenger. They made their home in Denison and their union blessed 3 sons. Tony, Todd, and Toby.
After her family was raided Sandy was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Denison Professional Medical Clinic and later at Crawford County Memorial Hospital From which she retired. She most recently was employed part-time at Crawford County Abstract Company.
In her spare time, Sandy enjoyed doing ceramics, crocheting, needlepoint, and working in her yard. She deeply loved her family and cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denison. Sandy died early Saturday, September 21, 2002, at Bishop Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. At the time of her death, she had attained the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 21 days.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include her 3 sons and their wives, Tony and Krista Mullenger of Claremore, Oklahoma, Todd and Mary Mullenger of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Toby and Lonnie Mullenger of Maple Grove, Minnesota, seven grandchildren, William, Markus, Andrew, Matthew, Jesse, Travis and Mitchell Mullenger, one sister Diane and husband, William Norelius of Denison, Lora, two brothers. J Jenkins and wife Barbara of Westminster, Colorado and Scott Jenkins and wife Julia of Australia nieces, nephew the relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Denison Iowa with the Rev Chris Ferguson officiating.
Music for the service included two Congregational hymns. " How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" and an organ solo, "I'll Take you Home Again Kathleen". Nancy miles served as organist, casket bearers were Tony, Todd, Toby, Billy Mullenger. Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. The Pfunnebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
