Daughter of Thomas Logan Hoagland and Martha Ann Yenwine

Charles Franklin and George Perry's father died from pneumonia. After her marriage to Samuel S Poe, the boys took the name Poe as their family name although never being legally adopted by Samuel.

It was not until later in their life they discovered their surnames to actually be Hall. Yet, they continued to use the Poe name and it has carried through several generations of these two sons.

Samuel and Christie had one son, Percy.

They divorced and the three children lived with her as she provided for herself as a hat maker while remaining in Golden. She later moved to Seattle where she owned a hotel.
