He was born to George Newt Eubank and Dicie E. (Jones) Eubank. He has a brother Joseph Gordon Eubank (Barbara) and one sister, Mary Eubank who died in infancy. All are now deceased.

Ralph's father was a carpenter and worked in several different cities ending up in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he established the Eubank Lumber & Supply Co. and the Eubank Construction Company. Ralph and his brother, Joe worked with their dad in the family business. He married Melva Pearl (Childers) on August 2nd, 1939. During WWII, Ralph helped build Los Alamos then worked for a while at Douglas Aircraft Co. in Santa Monica, California. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the First Calvary Division in the Philippines and was among the first troops to go into Japan after the A bombs were dropped.

After the war Ralph returned to Santa Fe and worked in the family business until 1949 when his Dad retired and both families returned to the family farm at Buford in Baxter County.
