Obituary
Drs. Mary Rader, widow of John Rader, (deceased, Jan. 15, 1911) was born near New Washington, Crawford county, O., April 3,1849. Departed this life August 12, 1917, aged 68 years, 4 months and 9 days. On the 6th day of December, 1868 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Rader, of Hancock county, O., and located in the vicinity of Van Buren, O., afterwards moved onto the farm where they lived until the death messenger called them hence.
There was born to the union 13 children, five daughters, Mrs. Martha Cook, of Milan, Mich., Mrs. Mary Leary, of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Annie Winkel, of Milan, Mich., and Mrs. Almeda Walters, of Hamler, O., one daughter having preceded her in death.
Eight sons, Dr. George Rader of Milan, Mich.; Mr. Frank Rader, of North Baltimore, O.; Mr. John D. Rader, of Sulivan, O.; Mr. Jesse E. Rader, of North Baltimore, O.; Mr. Grover Rader, of Belmore, O.; Mr. William Rader, of Deshler, O., and Mr. Fred Rader, who lives on the home farm; one son also having preceded her to the great beyond.
She was converted to God in early life and in later years she became identified with the West Belmore church, of which she was a faithful member and maintained her Christian character until death. She was well and favorably known and will be missed by all as a friend, neighbor, and citizen, and a kind and faithful wife, and loving mother.
She leaves to mourn her departure 11 children, 58 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and one lone sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Filson, and two brothers, Mr. Louis Lyon and Mr. Edward Lyon and one half sister, Mrs. Amelia Duning, and one half brother, Dr. Frank Ozenbaugh, all of North Baltimore, O., and other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held at the West Belmore church, conducted by Rev. J. H. Bolton, of Belmore, O. Subject: The hope of the resurrection and of the full promise of the live hereafter. Interment made in the West Belmore cemetery, conducted by F. E. Critchet of Belmore, O. Singing by the Evangelical quartet of Belmore.
