STUART MELOY SR., 94, Sanatoga, died Tuesday, April 5, 1983 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, where he had been a patient for the past week.

He was born in Port Royal, Juniata County, a son of the late Everett [Evard] and Elizabeth (Groninger) Meloy.

Mr. Meloy was a farmer most of his life and worked for 17 years for Kline and Reigh Paving Contractors, having retired 12 years ago.

He was a member of the MORA Club, Pottstown Senior citizens, Sanatoga Fire Co. and Sanatoga Sunday School. He was a former township commissioner in Lower Pottsgrove Township.

Survivors include three sons, John C., Downingtown; Stuart A. Jr., Coatsville; and James L., Sanatoga; two daughters, Myrtle E. Meloy, 1240 High St., Pottstown; and Doris J. Solomon, Route 20, Pottstown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Schumacher Funeral Home, Pottstown with the Rev. Delaine E. Story officiating. Interment was in Edgewood Cemetery.
