"Alvin Floyd Glascott, 38, World War II veteran, died Thursday, November 13 at noon in the VA Hospital in Danville, Ill. He was admitted there as a medical patient a month before his death.

An employee at Wabash River Ordinance Works, Newport, Ind, Mr Glascott had lived in Ridge Farm a year, having come there from Chattanooga, Tn. He was a native of Stuttgart, Ark, born June 27, 1914 to S E and Nellie McAdams Glascott.

He served as a glide pilot overseas in WWII and was a flight officer in the 314th Troop Carrier Group. He enlisted July 25, 1942 and was discharged Jan 30, 1946. He was a member of Curtis G Radden Post No 210, American Legion and the Baptist church, Chattanooga.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Etta Hall Glascott; 2 sons, Danny Lee, 9 and Larry Eugene, 4; 4 sisters, Mrs Katie Kellar, Frankfort, Ind; Mrs Eulah Spencer, Whittington, Ill; Mrs Edith Innis, Ridge Farm, Ill; Mrs Helen Curran, Phoenix, Az; one brother, W B, Terre Haute, Ind.
