Lee Rue Wood Passed away March 8, 2011 in his home in Snowflake Arizona. Lee was born to Lehi and Florence Wood, June 17, 1921 in Colonia Juarez, Mexico where he spent his first 20 years before moving to Chama New Mexico.
During Lee's 46 years in Chama, he was Chama's first city Marshall and captain of Rio Arriba County Sherriff's Posse. Lee always enjoyed being a Rancher and cattleman. Lee Married Alice Judd, in Albuquerque New Mexico.
Lee Leaves his wife Alice of 63 years, Sons David Wood and Jeff Wood; Daughters Pat Wood, Vickie Martinez, Sandie Kitchens, Alisa Wescott and Beva Wagoner; 30 Grandchildren, 62 Great-Grandchildren and 13 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday March 9, 6-8 pm at Silvercreek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill rd. in Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 10, 2pm at the Pioneer Chapel, 175 W 9th St in Snowflake Arizona, with a viewing an hour prior.
Burial will take place in Chama New Mexico on Saturday.
