Milan, MI--Age 88, died Saturday morning, March 7 at Saline Community Hospital. He was born February 6, 1904 in Milan, the son of Forrest and Almira (James) Goldsmith. On October 18, 1924, he married Lillian Leonard in Ann Arbor and she survives. He retired as a millwright from Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti. He then sold cars for Sesi Lincoln-Mercury in Ypsilanti for over 20 years. He was a member of the Marble Memorial United Methodist Church in Milan and the Masonic Lodge #323 F&AM of Milan. He also enjoyed gardening. Survivors besides his wife Lillian include three daughters, Mrs. Francis (Mae) Conner Milan, Mrs. Russell (Mary) Kenyon of Milan, Mrs. Ted (Lois) Townsley of Ypsilanti; one son, James (Theresa) Goldsmith of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one sister, Mrs. Vesta Krueger of Louisville, KY; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan with the Rev. Robert Goudie of the Marble Memorial United Methodist church officiating. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Those desiring may make contributions to the Saline Evangelical Home. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where friends may call 6-9 p.m. Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. A Masonic service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday.
