Mrs. Frances Mallek

Mrs. Frances Mallek, 63, Junction City, died at 1:10 a.m. Monday at a Milwaukee hospital.

She was the widow of Joseph Mallek.

Mrs. Mallek, ill for the last month, was staying with a daughter in Brookfield before entering the hospital Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City, with the Rev. Raymond Bornbach officiating, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Martens Funeral Home in Junction City after 7 this evening.

Mrs. Mallek, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bobrowski, was born in Ashland April 3, 1899. The family moved to the Town of Carson when she was a child.

On Nov. 21, 1916 she was married in Junction City to Mr. Mallek, and the couple settled on a farm in the Town of Eau Pleine. They lived there until Mr. Mallek's death Jan. 1, 1962, and since then his widow had made her home in Junction City.

She is survived by four sons, Edward and Aloysius, Route 1, Junction City; Benedict, Milwaukee; and Joseph, Jr., Wisconsin Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Celia) Ciaglo, Junction City; Mrs. Alex (Martha) Mancl, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Donald (Josephine) Martens, Brookfield; and Mrs. Robert (Rose Marie) Kawlewski, Milwaukee; 29 grandchildren; three brothers, Anton Bobrowski, Chicago; and Robert and Joseph, Junction City; and three sisters, Mrs. Benjamin Zinda, Junction City; Mrs. Boyd Elliot, 617 5th Ave., and Mrs. Raymond Cherney, Milladore.

Preceding her in death were three infant children, a brother, Frank Bobrowski, and another brother who died in infancy.

Mrs. Mallek was a member of the Rosary and Altar Societies and the Senior Sodality of St. Michael's Church.

The following rosaries have been scheduled:

Tonight at 7:30, Rosary Society, Wednesday at 3 p.m., Senior Sodality; Wednesday at 8 p.m., general rosary; and Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Council 4648 Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Mallek's husband was a member of the Council.

Members of the family have said they prefer mass offerings in lieu of flowers.

Mallek Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Mallek, Junction City, were held Thursday morning at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Junction City.

Mrs. Mallek, 63, the widow of Joseph Mallek, died last Monday at a Milwaukee hospital.

The Rev. Raymond Bornbach officiated at the requiem mass with the Rev. Robert Agnew offering a mass at a side altar. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

The pallbearers were Frank Strykowski, Albert Ciaglo, Leo Mallek, Frank Kaminski, Chester Scrzeczkowski and Walter M. Mallek.

Friends and relatives attended the funeral from Junction City, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Brokaw, Milwaukee, Brookfield, Chicago, Dorchester, La Crosse and Port Edwards.
