Funeral services were held Monday at Holy Trinity church for John Lavey Sr., 86, Route 3, Chilton. Mr. Lavey died Thursday at his home in the town of Brothertown. He had been ill for eleven days. Rev. Robert Klein officiated and burial was made in the Union Cemetery, Brothertown.

Mr. Lavey was born Oct. 1, 1867 in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lavey. He was a retired farmer. He married Ruby LaPrarie, April 5, 1897 in the town of Calumet.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Robert of Jericho, Forrest of Elkhart Lake, John Jr., of Sheboygan, Roland and Hugh of the town of Brothertown; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hallis,(sic) Mrs. Woodrow Mattes and Mrs. Henry Mattes all the Sheboygan; two brothers, Frank of Crandon and Edward of Brothertown; and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Kaphingst and Mrs. Irma Sengspiel, both of Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
