Mrs. H. Washo, 51, Wife of Supervisor, Is Buried Monday
Mrs. Lillie Washo, 51 years old, wife of Harry Washo, supervisor of the town of Ela, was buried following rites held at the chapel 202 S. Cook street, and St. Peter Evangelical church in Lake Zurich Monday afternoon. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery in Barrington. Members of the Lake county board of supervisors and officers of the Ela town board attended the services.
Mr. Washo died at her home in Ela township Saturday morning. She was taken ill three months ago and underwent an operation eight weeks ago.
Lillie Mae Melzer was born at Glenview April 29, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Melzer. She was reared at Glenview and taught school there for four years. She became the bride of Harry Washo on February 9, 1907, and they resided there until 1917 when they moved to Ela township. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical church and was elected president of the Ladies Aid society in October, 1936.
Surviving besides her husband are three children, William of Barrington and Miss Alice and Norman at home, two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Robb of Wheeling and Mrs. Christina Simpson of Chicago, and one brother, John Melzer of Chicago. Mrs. Washo was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
