GATESVILLE, N.C. - Tazewell Dempsey Eure Sr., 84, of Main Street, Gates County registrar of deeds for 44 years, died Oct. 3, 1991, in a Suffolk hospital.
Mr. Eure was born in Gates County. He retired in 1984 after having served 11 four-year terms. He was a past president of the North Carolina Association of Registrars of Deeds. He was a member of Gatesville Ruritan Club and Eure Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brinkley Eure ; two sons, Tazewell Eure Jr. of Raleigh and Dr. L. Brinkley Eure of Pulaski, Va.; a sister, Adminta Coeyman of Greensboro; two brothers, Thad Eure of Raleigh and Dr. Darden Eure of Morehead City; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Eure Christian Church by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Burial will be in Gatesville Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling arrangements.
