BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral Mass for Angelina Serio will be held Monday, January 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, concelebrated by Monsignor Earl Provenza and
Rev. Charles Glorioso. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, immediately followed by a vigil service by
Rev. Charles Glorioso. Angelina died peacefully on January 16 after a 15-year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Angelina was born in Shreveport on September 27, 1930 to Charles Serio of Cefalu, Sicily and Joanna
Marabella Serio. In 1950, she married Chief Petty Officer Philip B. Serio of Alexandria, and they lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Norfolk,
Virgina until his Navy retirement. They settled in Bossier City, where Angie was best known as the owner-operator of Angie's Famous Brand Shoes from 1967 to 1992. She loved to serve her customers, and Bossier ladies still remember Angie's bright smile and cheerful personality. She
was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the NOMA Club, and various professional organizations. She had a green thumb with her flowers and vegetables, always saying she was
"just a country girl."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Joanna Serio. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Philip Serio, Sr.; daughter, Linda; son, Phil Serio, Jr. and wife Sarah; brother, Frank Serio and wife Barbara; brother, Louis Serio and wife Linda; sister, Lucy McGregor
and husband Marvin; loving nieces and nephews; beautiful granddaughters, Jennifer Psalmonds
and Elizabeth McElhatten; and two great-grandsons. Dearest friend, Sarah Glorioso was always there for Angie and her family.
Pallbearers will be Frank Serio, Jr., James Serio, Scott Serio, Marvin McGregor, Joseph Glorioso and Greg Salario. Honorary pallbearers are John Manno, Sr., Ace Lewis and T.J.
Mandina.
Special thanks to the staff of Garden Court Nursing Center, Rev. Pike Thomas, Sister Sharon Rambin, Chaplains Mary Preziosi and Alan Prater, Dr. Lawrence Drexler, Dr. Syed Zaidi and to the third floor nurses and staff at WK Bossier.
